B.A., Ursuline College
My name is Sandy Zigman, and I am the sixth, seventh, and eighth grade math teacher with an eighth grade homeroom. This is my fourteenth year of teaching, and I am so lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful students, families, teachers, and faculty.
I graduated from Ursuline College with my Bachelor’s Degree. After I graduated, I taught fourth grade at St. Christine School in Euclid for five years. When the school closed, I had the opportunity to teach English at Holy Cross/Our Lady of the Lake School to fifth and sixth graders with a fifth grade homeroom. When my boys were three and five, I decided it was time to be a stay-at-home mom. It didn’t take me long to come back to Our Lady of the Lake. At first, I worked as the remedial math and reading teacher for sixth, seventh, and eighth grade. During this time, I had a feeling I would be back to teaching my own homeroom. When the math position was available, I was ready, interested, and excited to come back to Our Lady of the Lake. I love teaching math and planning fun, creative lessons that the students will enjoy. This is my third year teaching junior high students, and I love it! I work with a great team of teachers and students.
Teaching is my passion, and I am so lucky to go to work and do what I love every day. I hope to inspire my students to want to learn, to achieve their goals, to make memories, and to believe in themselves.
When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my family, cook, garden, and read. I am married to my wonderful husband, Joe, and I have two amazing boys: Joey and Patrick. As a family, we love to travel. During the summer, you can find us: at the pool, at a baseball game, the science center, or hanging out in our backyard.
