B.A., University of Dayton
My name is Katy Butauski, and I am excited to rejoin the faculty of Our Lady of the Lake, as the art teacher for the school. Previously, I was the fifth and sixth grade social studies teacher for twelve years.
I am a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake, a graduate of Villa Angela-St. Joseph, and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Dayton. During my first twelve years teaching, I was able to bring a sense of creativity to the classroom and enhance the learning process for students through interactive projects, creativity, and engagement that developed their sense of self as we learned about world history and social studies.
After my second child was born, I decided to be a stay-at-home Mom, but had the good fortune to stay connected by substitute teaching when needed, and was thrilled to return to teaching in this capacity. My husband and I love spending time with family and friends. We are the proud parents to Ginny and John, who are both at OLL and keep us busy and laughing, pretty much all the time. We love to spend time at our park, ride bikes, and find a new adventures.
Our Lady of the Lake is a vital part of Catholic education, with a long tradition of serving the community, while nurturing and preparing students for the next step in their educational journey. I am committed to helping students succeed in all capacities and educating them to realize their potential not only as students, but as members of society. I consider it an honor and a privilege to be a part of the children’s lives.
