7th and 8th Grade Science
B.A., Cleveland State University
My name is Beth Somody and I am the junior high science teacher at Our Lady of the Lake School. In addition to teaching seventh and eighth grade science I teach eighth grade reading, and religion. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Cleveland State University and have been teaching for 15 years. I started my teaching career as an elementary teacher and have been an eighth grade teacher at Our Lady of the Lake for six years. I love teaching eighth grade. It is very rewarding preparing them for high school and making their last year at Our Lady of the Lake memorable.
My husband and I have three adult children and one grandson. We love traveling to different places and spending time with our family.
My goals in the classroom are to promote confidence and to motivate the students so they are excited about learning. I achieve these goals through the use of hands on, interactive lessons that connect to real life experiences. In the past six years as a teacher at Our Lady of the Lake I have built strong relationships with the students, parents and staff. The children are happy to be at school, the parents are welcoming and the staff is very supportive. I am glad that I am a part of Our Lady of the Lake School.
