Hi! My name is Ashley Babb, and I teach first grade at Our Lady of the Lake School. I am a graduate of The Ohio State University with an Early Childhood Degree and I also completed my Masters in Literacy and Reading Endorsement at Ashland University.

I taught a total of 14 years prior to coming to Our Lady of the Lake School. During that time, I taught students in Catholic, Charter, Private and Public Schools settings. After my most recent stint in a public school, I realized that I was ready to come back to my Catholic Family because I knew it is where I really want to be! The reason I love teaching in a Catholic school is because I love sharing my faith with my students and helping them deepen their relationship with Jesus.

I love my family and am always organizing activities to get them together. My family loves to attend plays, cheer our Cleveland and Ohio State teams and spend time outdoors. I also started taking yoga classes this year with my daughter and husband and would like to work that into my classroom. I’m excited to share my enthusiasm for learning with my kiddos.

I believe every child has the ability to learn when given the opportunity and the appropriate materials. I encourage the development of independence and a positive self-concept. I am excited to work at Our Lady of the Lake School because we are a team of caring adults who help to build security, teach trust, and be a source of support for the child as well as the parents.
