M.A., John Carroll University
My name is Anne Hribar and I have been teaching here at my alma mater since 1996. I attended high school at Villa Angela and earned my BA in Communications as well as my M.Ed. from John Carroll University. A student at heart, I love teaching because I love learning and have taught many disciplines here over the years across various grade levels. I currently work with all classes in the computer lab as well as with several classes for enrichment and service learning.
I attended Holy Cross (Our Lady of the Lake) as did my four siblings and my two children. Upon earning my teaching license, I felt called to come back to my home community. I am particularly drawn to areas of Catholic Social Teachings in my studies and in guiding my students to be true agents of change while treating all people with dignity. This extends to my life outside of the classroom and my work as a board member and/or volunteer with several non profit institutions. Inspiring students to enjoy learning for the sake of learning and to be independent thinkers is essential. My philosophy is that every child can learn if given the tools to learn and the most significant tool is an open mind to new ideas and methods.
Our Lady of the Lake offers a quality learning environment that is safe, diversified, and spiritual. The faculty and staff strive to provide students with learning experiences that best suit their needs. The parent and parish community are valuable stakeholders in the overall success of the school community. These partnerships are rewarding.
